DESCRIPTION:Dear SCPS Members\,\nYou are Invited to attend: \nSubstance Use Trends \nand Specialty Substance Use Disorder Treatments\nONLINE: Wednesday\, January 18th\, 2023\n7:00 P.M. – 8:30 P.M. \nMembers: Please reply to socalpsychiatric@gmail.com to RSVP \nThe Substance Use Disorder Committee aims to create a series of discussions on advocacy\, prevention and treatment of substance use disorders. \nSession #1: a Virtual Panel Discussion featuring:\nMatthew Goldenberg\, DO and Brian Hurley\, MD\nModerated by Tatjana Josic\, DO\, and PK Fonsworth\, MD \nMatthew Goldenberg\, DO works in General and Addiction Psychiatry at his Private Practice in Santa Monica\, California. He is a HIMS Trained Aviation Psychiatrist\, providing Pilot Evaluations for the FAA. He also provides Evaluation and Treatment of Healthcare Providers and Safety Sensitive Workers. He often serves as a Psychiatry and Addiction Expert Witness\, and is President-elect at the Southern California Psychiatric Society. \nBrian Hurley\, MD is an addiction physician and the Medical Director of the Division of Substance Abuse Prevention and Control for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. Brian currently serves as President-Elect of the ASAM Board of Directors. He chairs the Los Angeles County SafeMedLA Medications for Addiction Treatment Action Team\, and is the Clinical Director of the Addiction Treatment Starts Here programs through the Center for Care Innovations.
