Cover My Mental Health is an initiative designed to assist individuals in overcoming insurance-related obstacles to accessing mental health care. It provides resources and support for navigating issues like claim denials and finding in-network providers.
Overview of Cover My Mental Health
This initiative offers various resources to help individuals and clinicians.
- Support for Individuals — Cover My Mental Health helps individuals tackle insurance barriers, such as denials for “not medically necessary” treatments.
- Resources for Clinicians — The program provides no-cost resources to clinicians to assist their patients in overcoming insurance challenges.
- Educational Content — It offers articles and stories aimed at educating patients and families about navigating mental health insurance issues.
- State and Federal Resources — The initiative identifies specific resources available at both state and federal levels to aid in dealing with insurance obstacles.
This presentation will cover:
- A broad overview of fighting insurance denials (letters, peer-to-peer reviews, complaints)
- A focused session on medical necessity letters
- A focused session on conducting peer-to-peer reviews
