Please note that SCPS does use cookies on our Web site(s). No personally identifiable information (such as your name, address, phone number and e-mail address) is collected as you browse but may be collected if you submit information to the Web site. SCPS is not responsible for any cookies that may be employed in our on-line database by MemberClicks or other web sites that are linkable via www.socalpsych.org or the SCPS Web site(s).

What information we collect and how we use it:
E-mail and physical addresses provided by you may be stored in our online Member’s database or elsewhere.

How we use personal information –
Once collected, we may use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • Register you for programs and services you have requested
  • Process, fulfill and follow up on your orders or membership application
  • Answer your e-mails or on-line requests
  • Send information you request
  • Send and process surveys
  • Ensure the SCPS site(s) is relevant to your needs
  • Deliver SCPS services such as newsletters, meetings or events
  • Notify you about new products/services special offers, upgrades and other related information from the SCPS and other approved third parties.

How we use your e-mail address:
The following defines how e-mail will be handled for physicians and medical students, SCPS members and non-physicians who have supplied their e-mail address to the SCPS.

Physicians: All physicians who have provided an e-mail address and have not opted out are sent a link to the monthly SCPS Newsletter.

Physicians, medical students, and non-physicians: The SCPS may also send “transactional or relational e-mail messages” to physicians, medical students, and non-physicians with whom we already have a relationship.

We do not share, sell, trade, exchange or rent your e-mail address to vendors for them to market their products or services to you. When we hire vendors to deliver e-mails to you on our behalf, we do not authorize them to use your information other than to communicate with you on our behalf. However, we have no control over their use of information they obtain.

How to opt out of e-mail:
To opt out of an e-mail list, click the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any e-mail newsletter from the SCPS. You can also call the SCPS at 310-815-3650 to unsubscribe.

The SCPS may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process served on the SCPS; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of SCPS; or (c) protect the personal safety of SCPS personnel, SCPS members or members of the public in urgent circumstances.
