Launching Your Private Practice Journey

Transitioning from residency to private practice can feel like navigating an entirely different world. Or, maybe you have an itch to start a part-time private practice well into your career. On March 18th, 2026 at 7:30pm via Zoom, Drs. Elizabeth Casalegno and Victoria Huang will present a “Private Practice 101” session tailored for the SCPS community. We’ll be sharing the highest-yield insights focusing on the basics: location, lease negotiations, EHR selection, and how to build a practice that avoids burnout. Come join us for a 60-minute deep dive followed by a candid Q&A as they share their experience on how to build a successful private practice.

Speaker Bios:

Victoria Huang, M.D. and Elizabeth Casalegno, M.D. are psychiatrists that founded and actively manage the Adelpha Psychiatric Group. After completing their adult psychiatry training at UCLA NPI in 2013, they moved into the world of private practice. They opened Adelpha in 2016 in Encino with the goal of bringing elite psychiatric care to more than just the elite few by learning how to navigate the complexities of taking commercial insurance. In 2019, they expanded to Pasadena and most recently opened their third location in Oakland in 2025.

For over 10 years, Drs. Casalegno and Huang have delivered an extensive private practice lecture series for the UCLA residency program and brought this to the USC residency program in 2024. They are excited to continuing helping the next generation of physicians navigate the clinical and business complexities of private practice.
