Overdose prevention. Assembly member Susan Eggman (D, Stockton) is author of an overdose prevention bill. AB 362 authorizes a safe injection site pilot program in San Francisco. CPA supports. A similar bill last year vetoed by the Governor.
Extending postpartum coverage for a mental illness in Medi-Cal, from 60 days to one year, is the point of another bill by Assembly member Eggman, AB 577.
CPA Sponsored bill. This year CPA and Ms Eggman will be working together to put a bill on the Governor’s desk that would create an online, real-time registry for all kinds of psychiatric and drug program beds, AB 682. It’s set for hearing March 26 in the Assembly Health Committee.
