Parity Transparency (SB 11, Beall) was first up on the Senate Health Committee agenda April 24. Then it got “vaxxed ” by 1,000 “anti-vaxxers” who filled the Capitol to protest Dr Richard Pan’s SB 276. The bill tightens loopholes that have allowed fraudulent medical exemptions for vaccinations. Six hours later the Committee resumed its regular order of business after each individual was allowed to testify. Those opposed to the bill were not a homogeneous group, as families with medically fragile children, or those with children with adverse vaccination reactions showed up to express fears and concerns – as well as those claiming their constitutional rights were being curtailed and protesting government interference in the doctor-patient relationship. As all this was happening, Los Angeles County quarantined over 200 people at UCLA and Cal State University who cannot prove they were vaccinated.
