CSAP’s sponsored legislation, SB 1184 (Eggman), has been sent to the Appropriations Suspense file. In the committee’s bill analysis, the committee consultant wrote about the bill’s estimated cost and the State’s continued deficit situation stating, “Costs of an unknown amount, potentially more than $150,000 annually, to DHCS to collect data from facilities and add the data to a report DHCS is already required to prepare and publish (General Fund). According to the Legislative Analyst’s Office, the General Fund faces a structural deficit in the tens of billions of dollars over the next several fiscal years.” You may view the full bill analysis here. The Assembly Appropriations Committee will dispense of its suspense files on Thursday, August 15. Senator Eggman has spoken with the committee Chairwoman Buffy Wicks (D-Oakland). SYASL is doing everything it can to get the bill onto the Governor’s desk. More to follow next week.
